Short Name: 

UNICRI was established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) following Resolution 1086, which urged an expansion of United Nations activities in crime prevention and criminal justice.

Cybercrime has been a focus of UNICRI since 2004 and after years of experience it now possesses the skills and know-how to analyze the many trends associated with online criminal activity. UNICRI is supported by an extensive, specialized and trusted contact network composed of private enterprises, international organizations and NGOs, academic institutions, law enforcement bodies, and governmental bodies, as well as other UN agencies.
